Legal Question in Workers Comp in Michigan

Workers compensaiton denied

I passed out at work after i hit my knee on the corner of a machine. when i passed out i hit my head on the concrete floor and was knocked out. I was taken out by ambulance to the hospital. I had a close head injury and crevical strain. I lost 3 weeks or work. I was denied work comp benifits they say it is not work related Now i agree the faint was not but the bump on my head and the head aches and the time lost from work are a result of the cement floor at work. I feel the caim should never been denied am I right? Please respond sincerly gotfaith. Thankyou.

The mix up is if you passed out for no reason related to work, workers comp may be off the hook. (If you hit your head on the concrete floor and the work environment increased your risk of injury from a fainting spell that was not job related, you still may be entitled to benefits. However, because you passed out because you hit your knee, it is compensable. You should file a petition for workers compensation with a lawyer specializing in that type of case. Give me a call if you are in the tri-county area.
