in bankruptcy procedings is it possible to keep a duplex which I live in?

Yes, but first, you will need to pay at least the first mortgage and second there are some rules about how much value you can keep. Check with a bankruptcy attorney near you.

I have a case I am working on now where I plan to allow my client to keep his duplex. There are a lot of ifs, buts and maybes in a situation like that however. Each situation is different. I can't make a blanket statement on the subject that would apply to everybody.
