Internet auction site legality
Is the site www.bestofferauction.com legal? It is not a traditional auction site
like eBay, but involves monetary risk on the part of the participant and a
percentage of the bids are awarded to the operator and is therefore similar to
a gambling operation. Thank you.

I would have to review it and research applicable law. Are you just curious or have you lost money or have a dispute re: the website?

Whether the site violates the gambling laws of Minnesota would typically be something addressed by the Attorney General's office. The first step in determining whether you might have a private cause of action would be to determine whether you can prove you have suffered monetary loss from dealing with the site.
