Website Linking and Selling
Would it be illegal in any way to gather a list of websites offering free gifts (such offers as free gaming systems in return for signing up for promotional activities), and sell the list (of website addresses) to people on ebay - as long as I don't take credit for the sites being my own?

The answwer depends on your linking method and whether or not the business operating the links would allow links. Moreover, your question raises issues about potential copyright and trademark infringement issues if you are using information from the sites that you link.
That being said, there is generally no prohibition on providing individuals a list of domain names for public sites that offer free gifts.
