That depends on the felony. Under Minnesota Statute 609.165 some people that have had their firearm rights revoked can petition the court for a reinstatement. A person who has been convicted of a crime of violence is not entitled to have their firearm rights restored. In addition, if a petition is denied, the person may not file another petition until three years have elapsed without the permission of the court.
