Legal Question in Consumer Law in Minnesota

giving homemade cookies as gifts

I work for a local college and we would like to give a gift to the employers who work with us on a yearly basis. We were going to bake homemade cookies and deliver them. Is there a legal issue with this or is there something we should do to protect ourselves? I am thinking of allergy related issues right now. Or should we forget the whole idea?

Re: giving homemade cookies as gifts

Giving cookies as holiday gifts should not raise any FDA or MN Dept Health issues, but as a courtesy you may want to include a note as to any ingredients which commonly cause allergic reactions ("Contains Peanut Butter") etc.

Most people with allergies will not consume non-commercial products out of habit anyway.
