Legal Question in Consumer Law in Minnesota
We hired a contractor to put new siding and shingles on our house. He said it would take 2 - 3 weeks maximum. It is now 5 weeks and still not done. Can anything be done about this? Can we deduct any money from the bill due to this?

You may never automatically deduct payments from a bill. It is an issue of contentioin that must be worked out between the parties or litigated. If your contract did not have a time for the work to be completed or a time is of the essence clause in it, it would be difficult to prove any recoverable damages.
