Legal Question in Consumer Law in Minnesota
I joined Anytime Fitness about a month and a half ago with a one year contract. My fianc decided that he wanted to join a couple of weeks ago. So he went in and told them that his fianc (me) had a membership there. They automatically added him to my account which means that I will be billed for his monthly payment from my credit card that I set up when I join individually. No one from anytime fitness called or contacted me in any way to verify that this was okay with me. Is there a law against this?

It does not appear that you have contacted the club yet based on your question. This should be the first thing you do. Since you are not married the club should have checked with you, and even if you were married. If you are receiving a special rate for you and your boyfriend the club may require it, but you can always say no to the special rate and sign up individually.
