Legal Question in Consumer Law in Minnesota

sueing responsible parties

I closed a joint checking account in June of 06', shortly after I moved from my residence and went through a dissolution. Between Aug 07 and Oct 07 several of those closed checks were being used everywhere, accross five counties. Several of the companies who took the checks have check scanning equipment to mitigate this sort of thing; however, they still allowed the checks to go through. Since the account is closed my bank does not keep record of the checks passed; consequently, I have to review my credit report, and deal with each individual instance. What I am trying to say is that I would like to sue the people who wrote the checks after they are convicted. I would also like to sue the companies whos check scanning equipment allowed for these checks to pass. Please let me know if I have a case.

You may have a case, but I would need more information to evaluate it fully. I would be happy to discuss this matter with you further.
