Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Minnesota

I received a summons from a debt collector to show up to court for failure to provide information via a demand for disclosure. I understand that by not attending I could be issued a bench warrant. My question is that I recently got a little money and may be able to pay off all of this debt right now, how would I contact them to just pay it and avoid this whole ordeal? The only information I have is the phone and address of the Attorneys for the Plaintiff and the name of the debt collections agency, could I just call them up and get it sorted?

You could certainly call the attorneys for the collector and see if you can negotiate a reasonable settlement for yourself. Lots of variables I don't know about your situation, such as: Is this your only debt, or just the first of many? If it is your only creditor, it likely makes sense to settle it. If it is one of many, you may be postponing the day of reckoning. Also, is the debt owned by the original creditor or by a debt buyer?
