Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota

Hello. I live in Minneapolis, MN. My neighbors had a birthday party at their house and small kid from the party entered our apartment while I was sleeping. I was completely unaware that he was hiding in our apartment bathroom. I heard him crying after sometime and found him. I explained the whole situation to the police and his parents. The cops took my name, driver license no. and phone no. on a notepad. I am scared now. Is this going to be a problem in the future for me ? Are they going to file a criminal record against my name ? Please reply.

Based on the facts as you describe, it does not sound like a crime has been committed. But to set your mind at ease it may be wise to confer privately with a criminal defense attorney. Good luck.

I am unsure as to why you fear potential criminal charges. Perhaps you should confer privately and confidentially with an attorney at this time so she/he can assist you and advise you.
