Re: Theft charges

I presume you were charged with a misdemeanor, and depending on your age, if you do not have any prior violations, you will likely be eligible for diversion and probation, and possibly could obtain something called a "stay of adjudication." A stay of adjudication is basically an agreement that provides the charges will be suspended for a period of time, provided you do not have any subsequent violations.

Re: Theft charges

I don't know what will happen. I need to have more information, such as how the crime was committed, how the victim feels about it, how strongly the prosecutor feels about it, and who the judge is. I suggest you contact a lawyer in your home town to discuss this information with him/her. I am in Mankato, and if you live in the Mankato area or counties surrounding Mankato, I could help.
