Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota

I walked out of the store at the same time with a bunch of people and the detector went off. I didn't stop, went straight to my car and drove off but one of the employee already recorded my plate number. Would they be able to come after me? if so, how can I prepare for it? should I go back to the store, return the item & apologize for it? please help!!!

If you are contacted by law enforcement, or any store personnel you should say nothing to them, not even identify your self over the phone. Don't say ANYTHING. The way you get into problems is by speaking to anyone about this. It would help if you had a lawyer to whom you could direct any questioning.
