Legal Question in DUI Law in Minnesota

My fiance has a limited drivers license and was subject to plate impoundment due to DWI (subsequently sold his car). I have been driving him to/from school each day, a 20 minute additional drive to the 45 minutes I commute to work. Now that he has a limited license, can he drop me off at work and drive my car the remaining distance to school without me having the "whiskey" plates on my car?

My understanding is that he is not to drive anything that does not have a special plate on it. Also, I'd be surprised if the terms of his limited license allow for him to drop someone else off anywhere.

When in doubt, call the Department of Public safety and speak with a driver evaluator about it.

He has to be very careful about all of this. It is not something to mess around with.
