i recieved a ticket for a hit abd run to a buliding aswell as carless drivng should i get a public defender for my court date. this is goning to the da and it could get worse i have been told

You would be wise to hire counsel. Chances are there will be speculation as to why you left the scene and, I imagine, the thought will be that you left to avoid a DWI. If you make no statements, there will be littel evidence to charge you with a DWI.
Nonetheless, you charged with a misdmeanor which is punishable by up to 90 days in jail and a $1000 fine.
