Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota
My brother currently has custody of my 2 daughters. One turns 18 on March 11, 2015 but will not graduate until May 29, 2015. I know custody support can continue until she graduates. He, however, is trying to say I cannot see or have access to her when she turns 18. Can he legally keep me from contacting my daughter after age 18. There is no protective order or restraining order in place. My daughter wants to have contact. How much control does my brother have. My daughter will remain living with him until graduation.

Your daughter is free to contact you whenever she wishes, especially after she turns 18. If there are no orders in place preventing you from contacting her, you may do so. But you need to be careful to not cross the line to harassment.
If you would like our office to review the paperwork to confirm what I've mentioned above, we can do so. We could also initiate communication with your brother to tell him that you have the right to contact your daughter.

Mr. Martin stated it very nicely. Unless there is more to the story you should be able to contact your daughter. As Mr. Martin also stated you may be wise to have his office or another attorney review the paperwork to make sure there is not something you overlooked that may cause you problems.
