Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

child support modification

My ex wife works for a law firm (legal secretary). Since uor divorce in 1997 she has sent me regular letters type written on the letter paper from the law firm she works at, stating the amount of child support I owe, (I pay this directly to the state)with the highest interest rate incurring, any extra costs such as camp, sports etc... I have taken these letters seriously and up until this year and my recent eye trouble(cornea transplant) I have always paid her what she claimed I owed. Now I am behind in my support to the state and will lose my license under the ''dead beat dad'' law. Is there anything I can do at this point?

Re: child support modification

You can file a Motion to modify your child support if your income has been decreased. You may also negotiate payment arrangements on the arrearage to avoid losing your driver's licennse.
