Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota
Need a divorce - never married!
I have been living with my boyfriend
for 4 years now, we own a property
business, 3 properties, have 2 brand
new leased vehicles and mounds of
credit card debt (which was mostly
from his drinking habits). His name
is only on 2 of the houses and a
couple of the credit cards,
unfortunately. He now wants to
leave me and I have no credit, no
money and was layed off from my job
last week. I cannot start over
because I don't have anything but all
of this debt. Please let me know
what I should do, is there some sort
of assistance for me in this situation,
what should I do in respect to our
debt and what rights do I have and
Thank you!

There is no common law marriage in Minnesota. Your remedy lies in contract and the agreements that you had with your ex on the ownership of the business entities and other property.
