Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

I've been divorced for just over a year and recently found out my ex-spouse purchased a business prior to our divorce being finalized. We found where the LLC to purchase the business was created in the name of her step father and mother, but the companies website states she is an owner as of 12 days prior to our decree was entered. Can I have her held in contempt?

Further detail about the divorce itself needs to be: There are various types (sorts) of divorces, EG, 'by default', 'stipulation/agreement', etc. Whether one or both were represented by qualified competent attorneys is but one more factor for consideration.

Regardless, seeking 'contempt' likely is not the best path for general circumstances such as you described. I

f you have any idea, even a guesstimate, of the sum of money at state for you, I suggest you first do your best to quantify that amount.

Then, I suggest you contact a qualified, well-experienced, seasoned attorney to provide you with legal counsel & detailed counsel: She will want to review the divorce decree, & definitely the more preparatory work you can do the better. I suggest a 'newbie' attorney would not be wise choice.

Know if you reside in a remote area, a few of us, myself included, are used to providing legal counsel to such folks, & make special arrangements appropriate to the individual case circumstances. A few of us, myself included, will consider finances in work fee rates.

Best to you, and regardless of the present problem, I hope that you are enjoying your 'new life'.
