Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota
I have full physical and legal custody of my two minor children from a previous relationship. They have not seen their biological mother in nearly two years, she had supervised visitation with the kids through their grandmother. My wife and I have been raising them and she, my wife, would like to adopt them. Do we still need the biological mother's consent/permission, if she has no physical or legal rights over the children?

Hello. The attorney you hire to help you with this matter will advise you. In my professional work, there are circumstances in which a parent may 'consent' to, say, a stepparent adoption, & other times in which a parent will refuse 'to consent' & 'contest' the situation. At times a parent knows what is unfolding & instead of presenting her/his views will instead seemingly 'fall off the side of the earth', in other words, literally makes no efforts, pro or con, whatsoever. There are also situations in which the bio' parent is MIA (cannot be located).
