Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

Grandparent visitation

I have a pending law case for visitation of my grandchildren ages 5-1/2 and 4. We have been to ENE and could not come to an agreement. Trial date is set for 11-3-08. My daughter has taken my grandchildren and moved out of state. What can be done at this point?

Thank You

Re: Grandparent visitation

I am not sure that I understand the question. if uou cannot resolve the case, you try the matyter to the court. It appears that is scheduled. If you qualify to seek grandparent's rights under the statute, the court makes determinations on grandparenting time based on what is in the child's best interests.

Given the fact that your trial is in November and coming up quickly, there is nothing that can likely be done in the interim. You certainly cannot prevent the relocation. Your rights extend only to grandparenting time.
