Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

harrassment in a failed relationship

My son was in a relationship with a minor who is pregnant and claims it is his. They are under 36 months differance in age.My son has broken up with her and she has been sending numerous text messages and leaves somewhat threatening messages on his cell phone. He has repeatedly asked her to stop these messages unless it is concerning the baby and is important. She continues to call at all hours of the night. He has changed his cell number several times. We have told her to talk to him through me..but she doesn't agree to this. She has called me names on my cell phone also. There is no proof that he is the father, but he only wants to be talked to by her if the baby has issues he needs to know about. She calls for very unimportant reasons. He has told her it's over but she seems to be more possessive of him.We have caught her in many lies- concerning the pregnancy also. What can he do ?

Re: harrassment in a failed relationship

He can seek a harrassment restraining order. However, it may be a better idea simply to ignore her calls by using caller ID. At some point I imagine he may wish to see the child. At some point a paternity action or a child support action is likely to be filed. At that point contact will be necessary.
