Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota
Step parents rights
I have full physical and joint legal custody of my 2 kids. My current wife signed a form to let my daughter get her ears peirced at my request. On the form she signed that she was a legal guardian. My ex wife is taking us to court stating that my current wife should not have signed to form getting her ears peirced even though I told my current wife to do it. What is the standings according to Minnesota law regarding the rights of step parents? Can she sign the form at my request when I cannot be there?

Re: Step parents rights
If she is not a biological parent, she should not be signing such documents. If the parties share legal custody, ear piercing decisions should be discussed and agreed upon between the parents.
