Hello. Terrific post. I do suggest tho' that you not post such details on a public website, for your best interest.
In this digital age, an 'electronic paper trail' tends to exist ad infinitum.
An attorney assisting you would want to talk with you & to view all of the records related to the charges & then she ought to be able to provide you with legal advice & counsel reasonable to the full facts. So you know, a balancing of your needs & wishes against concern & need for safety of the general public is a part of what occurs. MN overhauled criminal expungement law with the new law beginning on 1-1-15.
I will note to you that when a person is arrested for 2 alcohol issues such as yours (DWI is another very common EG), science shows the odds that you are alcoholic, 'carry the gene', are near 100 percent. Also, odds are you you 'were using' many, many times, even hundreds of times & never 'got caught'.
There is help. I urge you see an addiction psychiatrist subspecialist - not any 'regular doc'. The wonderful medicine naltrexone is known to be far underutilized in the USA.
I urge you check out the nationally & internationally known MainStreeters Open 12 Step (A.A.) group which meets every day of the year at 3 Twin Cities sites - incredible group of 'wounded healers' fyi. Miracles that will leave you 'jaw dropped' in astoundment. Can be you. 'Open' means just that: All are welcome, NO exception. Arrive early, stay late, ask to be the one to clean the bathrooms. Stay alert, even bring a little pen & paper. I urge you to pay close attention. Go up to one or more persons of your same sex who seem to be kind & caring AND who have many, many years of recovery: Ask to talk one to one.
As to attorney selection: I urge you choose a reputable attorney with years of professional experience & ongoing education. I, for example, to-date have engaged three training courses pertaining to the all-new, revamped MN criminal expungement law.
Urge: Be wary of all 'free advice'.
All the best to you - wonderful post.
