Legal Question in Immigration Law in Minnesota

Detainment by INS

My friend's brother (who is a naturalized US citizen) is being detained by the INS and may face possible deportation. He's a convicted felon who was serving his sentence at a Federal Prison Camp. He was removed from there & is being transported to a detainment center. My questions are ''Can the U.S. deport naturalized citizens back to the the country they came from? Can naturalized US citizens have their citzenship stripped, thus becoming vulnerable to deportation if they commit a crime? My friend does not know why her brother is being detained by the INS. What can we do to find out more information? Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Detainment by INS

A naturalized citizen cannot generally be deported unless the Immigration Service proves that the person wrongly acquired citizenship either by misrepresentation, fraud, mistake, etc.
