Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Minnesota
I'm opening a coffee shop and would like to display several funny one line quotes from various contemporary comedians on the walls, and would like to know if this is legal as long as I document the respective origins of these quotes. Thanks - Matt

Attribution is not a defense to copyright infringement. Assuming that you don't want to get permission from the respective comedians, you would need need to determine whether the quotations are copyrightable and whether it would be a fair use to use them for commercial purposes.
