Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Minnesota

Hi, I have a question regarding copyrights and my right to use photos online. If I start a fashion-related website and offer a paid service such as creating outfits online for people, would it be legal for me to use and send people photos from clothing retailers' websites or Google images, providing I state that they are not my pictures? If so, is it also legal to edit (resize, crop, etc.) these photos and send them to people, still stating that they are not my own?

Disclaiming ownership or stating the owner of the work does not negate copyright infringement. What you suggest is copying the works owned by another, and it is infringement. I don't see any exception you may qualify for as your proposed use is commercial.

I agree totally with Attorney Grosse.

Your use for commercial purposes is (c) infringement and you can get sued and they will win.

Without written permission from the owner (photographer, ad agency, etc.) you are taking unnecessary legal risks.
