Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Minnesota
I moved into an apartment under the impression that I could choose any internet/cable provider I wanted. After moving in, I learned that the property only allows one cable/internet provider, and the property apparently owns/manages this provider. This wouldn't be a problem, but the internet provider charges literally nine to eleven times more for the same internet!! No where in the lease or during any meetings did the property managers say there was only one option for cable/internet, in fact, that claimed you had choices. When we called a different internet provider, they were escorted off the premises during installation. It all seems a little fishy, could you call this extortion?
I appreciate any help or suggestions. Currently I refuse to order services from the company and I have talked to property management and ownership to no avail.

I am afraid that is a decision entirely within the discretion of the management company or real estate owner.
