rental agreements

i signd a rental agreement on may 1 and it is now may 21 we cant move in to the rental place intil june 1 i recently found a house to buy and i need to find out if there is a law enabling me to break that rental agreement and still get my damage deposit back before june 1

I would want to see your lease or any documents you signed. DId you pay deposit + 1st month rent?

If your move in date was June 1, it would be almost impossible to get the place rented by then.

BUt if you ABSOLUTELY want out of the lease, you should let me review your documents,and I would call the landlord.

I have been a landlord for 25 years and was Chairman of the Legal Committee for the MN MultiHousing Assn.
