Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Minnesota
I am a beneficiary in my father's estate, along with my siblings. We are having a disagreement about taking commissions when we bring money to the estate. The estate is still in probate.
For example, I found a film in my father's house that features a famous artist's work. Because of my efforts, our local art museum is interested in buying it. I have had the film transferred to video so it is easily viewable, I have met and emailed the curator several times. If the museum buys the film, am I entitled to a commission?

Absent a contract with the estate to the contrary, you would not be entitled to a commission sionce the asset is the asset of the estate and not your own.
