father in nursing home

fathers in nursing home and what happens when county has to pay for nusing home. His house is in my sisters name but can the county take it from her.

I am not entirely sure about your situation. You say the house is his, but then it appears that you are saying the house is not his but is your sister's. The rules on Medical Assistance (MA) are byzantine and not easily navigated. I know, I do some MA work. I suggest you consult with an attorney competent in both areas immediately.
