Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Minnesota

Signing with a ''X''

My husband is mentally aware and competent but cannot sign his name due to physical limitations. Can he legally sign a power of attorney and quit claim deed with an ''X'' instead of his signature? Or can I assist him when he signs his name? This would all be witnessed and notarized of course. Thanks.

Yes. If he is unable to physically sign, his mark can still be notarized before a notary so long as he is able to communicate his intent with regard to the mark.
