Legal Question in Criminal Law in Mississippi
Court Order
two weeks ago in court a judge ordered that my brother go to a min. security work camp for 30 days and then be released. He has not been moved from the terrible prison he is in where there was a fire the other day. He is not safe. When i call my attorney he says the judge is still working out the details of his order.so although the judge said an order in court..nothing is in writing yet?? ..but he said the order in court...? How long does the court have to put something in writing? This doesnt seem right.

Re: Court Order
Based on what you have written, you should speak with your attorney. As you are represented by counsel, no other attorney is supposed to talk to you about the facts of your specific situation.
Re: Court Order
In Mississippi a Judge has six (6) months to reduce an "Order" to writing, and if he does not do so within that period the Defendant can petition the Supreme Court for an Order requiring the lower Court Judge to put the Order in writing.
