If you are charged with distribution (Possession with Intent to Distribute Controlled Substances) the maximum fine is One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) and the maximum prison term is thirty (30) years. You can be sentenced to serve the time in prison and to pay the fine, or to either the prison term or the fine, depending on the decision of the Judge. If this is a first offense and if you hire competent legal counsel there is a chance that you may be able to work out a deal to enter a plea of guilty to simple possession of three pills and if you are able to arrange such a plea bargain "deal" the penalty applicable to that crime is a possible prison sentence for two (2) years up to eight (8) years and/or a fine of not more than Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) or both the fine and imprisonment.
