Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri

This is kind of a B&E/ Attempted Murder thing

Recently someone broke into my house, and hurt one of my friends ( cut her in numerous places and Gave her a black eye. when i got home there was broken glass everywhere and she was on the floor bleeding. i gave my report to the police and she gave hers and they took pictures of the cuts and what not but she was too scared to press charges. she saw the two guys that held her down and the girl( who i dated for a few days) that cut her. the police said that they are going to take the statements and pictures to the PA. I guess my question is what can i do if she doesn't press charges? shes the witness who saw all three of them. i can say it was them but i wasn't there. any advice would greatly help me cause i'm afraid that they are not done untill they find me because when they broke in they were waiting for me to come home. Can't the PA go over her head on this Because weather it was me or her that went in there it was attempted murder and im sure if it was me that was in there it would have been murder. Please Help

You may, and probably should, call the prosecutor's office and ask them to vigorously go after the individuals (I am assuming that they are named in the police reports) and that you believe that the physical victim/witness may have to be summoned to Court to force her to testify.

You may also sue the people that broke in in civil court. It is not clear from your psoting whther there was any property damage. You may then have to subpeona your friend to testify for you at court. If your and or the prosecutor are going to force her to testify anyway, she might decide to pursue the prosecution willingily.
