Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Missouri

Age Discrimination

My mother is 55 years old and retired from 37 years of service with the civil service. She has had numerous awards during her career with the federal government. She retired and then decided to return to the work force last summer. She went to work for a medical facility in the billing agency. After a few weeks she started to be harrassed by the management about she wasn't fast enough. Then barrages of complaints which I call harrassment started concerning eating at her desk when others did, she was told she couldn't leave the building when others did. They told her she wasn't going to work out in the billing agency so they placed her in a clinic as a clerk. Then harrassment started again such as being told she couldn't answer the phone professionally and gross negligence. This has absolutely floored me since my mom spent 37 years as a chief branch secretary. Their is also another lady, the same age as her, that is going through the same harrassment. Should my mother consult an attorney on this issue or would she be wasting her time?
