Minor in Possession: Missouri
I recently recieved a minor in possession charge. This will be my second. My first M.I.P charge was cleared over a year ago. What are the consequences for a 2nd offence M.I.P in Missouri?

I would strongly suggest that you hire an attorney. The attorney would interview you and obtain all of the information in the hands of the prosecutor. The attorney could then advise you whether it would be best to proceed to trial or to negotiate a plea bargain. You do not want a conviction for this charge on your record. If you do not already have an attorney, you may call me for a free telephone consultation.

Hi. I am a Missouri attorney that handles criminal issues, as well as injury and workers' compensation claims. You mention that your first M.I.P. charge was "cleared". In saying this, do you mean that it was dismissed, or did you plead guilty to a lesser offense? An attorney would likely be able to work out a plea agreement with the prosecutor, so that you could plead guilty to a lesser non-alcohol related offense, such as littering or illegal parking. I would also need to know briefly if you have any prior charges or convictions, other than the first M.I.P. charge, as this would affect the likelihood of working out a plea agreement with the local prosecutor.
