Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

My child's father took him out of state without my permmission. From my understanding I have full custody of my child. Now he doesn't want to bring him back. He also said if I do not let my child stay with him for 6 months he will take me to court and fight for joint custody. My child is 7 and his father wants to have him every 6 months. Can he do that? What can I do to make this doesn't happen again when I finally gey my child back?

You do not want to wait 6 months. You want to file a Petition in Court seeking a Court Order dealing with the custody of the child and the father's right to the child, if any. Consult with a lawyer who handles family law matters regularly in your geographical area.
