Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

My daughters birth father is not wanting anything to do with her, he says I will sign my rights over. He is not on the birth certificate , another guy is. How is the best way to get the birth father to sign over his rights and pay child support??? I have to legal papers saying he is the father.

There really seems to be no incentive for a parent to relinquish their rights and still have a support obligation. Usually someone is paid to do something that someone else wants, but is of no advantage to the doer.

If you cannot pay him, you might choose to have your husband adopt the girl.

Other than those options, you might seek support through the court, and hope that he opts to not seek visitation or custody

Good luck
