Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

I am going through a divorce. when we seperated we had a car in my husbands and my dads name. He said he wasnt gonna pay the payments and left the car with me. I have not been able to afford and have tried my best for the past year to make them so my dads credit isnt hurt. My dad just passed away from cancer. If i stop making the payments and it gets repossessed, who will be responsible for the balance?
