Asking "what rights does [an American citizen] have" in any situation is far too lengthy for an accurate answer here. Americans have many rights. Perhaps if you limit your question as to what specific rights you are concerned about, i.e. rights to visit child, rights to enter home, rights to property in a divorce with other parent of the child, etc, you might be more likely to get a response here.
