Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Missouri
3 years ago, we purchased a pleasure boat from an individual. We never got it l;icensed. Now, we are having a mechanic repair several of our cars, and we were going to barter the boat. However, when the mechanic took the boat title to find out about getting it licensed the Mo Dept of revenue told him there was a lien on the boat. How do we get the previous owner to make this right. We paid $3,000 for the boat.

I suppose that you could sue the person that sold you the boat for whatever amount is protected by the lien on the basis of fraud. If the amount is under $3000 you could do this in small claims court.
