Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Missouri

I was served a subpoena today that would require me to travel over 400 miles away, get a hotel because the time of the subpoena is too early to travel that day, take time off work, and find someone to travel with me since I'm too young to rent a hotel. Would it be possible for me to get out of this?

At the least, you will be compensated. It might be possible to get out of having to travel 400 miles. If it is a civil case, you may be able to be deposed in your town and not have to travel.Obviously, the Court isn't in Missouri, so they may have little power to punish you if you don't travel. If it is a criminal case, contact the Judge to address your needs and concerns.

Good luck

I need many more facts to give informed advice. In MO. If the subpoena is served and it is out of the county or over a certain mileage they have to tender you the mileage and cost wth tha subpoena or it is no good.
