Legal Question in Immigration Law in Missouri

Hello

I am in the USA on a vistors visa I have been here for 3 months since December 02, 2009. My I-94 expires June 01, 2010. I am a minister of Religion and I have currently recieved an offer to to work in the US. My questions are as follows: How long will it take to process my change of status application ? While my future employer is filing for a change of status, can i remain in the US even after my I-94 has expired or do I have to file for an Extension if the processing time exceeds my I-94 expiration date? Is it wise for me to leave the US while my future employer files my application or would it be easier to just remain in the US?

I appreciate you taking the time to consider my questions

If your employer applies for a change of status while you are in a valid B2 status, you might be able to stay in USA awaiting your approval and change of status.

If your employer applies for it as a consular processing, then you'll have to depart before expiration of your I-94 and go abroad to your home country to apply for an appropriate visa at the US consulate.
