Legal Question in Insurance Law in Missouri

Auto Insurance Claim

I purchased an 04 Ford Taurus, and a little over a month later someone ran into me. My insurance company is saying total loss and are offering me far less than what I purchased the car for. What can I do?

Re: Auto Insurance Claim

I handle a lot of car wreck cases. The first thing I do is get a copy of the police report if there is one. Then, I determine who the at-fault party is and where the potential sources of recovery are. Then, I send a demand letter to the source of recovery (usually an insurance company). I typically demand the Kelly Blue Book value of the car. If this demand is not accepted by the insurance company, I file a lawsuit in order to get my client paid.

Unfortunately, you may be in a position where the only way to get paid full value on your claim is to file a lawsuit. If this is the case, let me know if you would like fo rme to help you or to give you a referral.

Thanks,

James Manning
