Legal Question in Employment Law in Missouri
I received a note from a supervisor that says to clock out on time (7 AM) regardless if I\'m done or not. So I have to work off the clock to finish my job. I can\'t afford to lose my job if I don\'t finish the work. I do have the note in possession and it reads as follows: \n\nTerry, \n\nTonight Andrew will be doing backside, and tomorrow also. Keep on your toes, and don\'t push him, he will get done. I don\'t care if your done or not you must both clock out on time. This will help to show him how much speed counts. Also the reason for this is we need to get him trained, so if for some unknown reason we might want some time off we have someone to cover.\n\nAlso if some problem comes ip, you and Andrew talk them out. I will not be around a phone.\n\nMickey.\n\nNow, I\'m a Night Auditor for a hotel and we already work 8 hour shifts with no \'lunch\' break given the fact that we\'re not required to take one by law give the Hospitality Industry. But to continue working off the clock just so the management can get \'bonuses\' for keeping people from getting overtime seems a bit ridiculous to me. Like I said, I can\'t afford to lose my job. What can I do?
