Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Missouri
Collapsed Lungs Pulmonology
The patient, a physician herself, had fibrosis of the lungs, chronic for many years. She was taken to the ER,where they found that her oxygen saturation went below 40. With oxygen concentrator it soon went up to 100% and was discharged. She was admitted and treated and released for infiltration of the lungs as shown by X-ray. Pulmonolgist did not want to do biopsy, since he thought why disturb her chronic, but stabilized respiratory system. She was put on steroids for the first time.
At home she develops CF-diarrhea, with 10 episodes in one day, with dehydration. Blood pressure fluctuated low to normal, 90-100% oxygen saturation for two days. Interns decided to proceed with an invasive procedure (ventilation) to improve her oxygen saturation without any consent. She was fully conscious, *gentle, serene* in her Physician's words. She turned up dead within minutes. They concluded with the help of the pathologist that blood cloting from
oxins killed her, nottheir procedure (forbidden by the Pulmonologist) which collapsed her lungs.

Re: Collapsed Lungs Pulmonology
How are you related to the deceased, and when exactly did this happen? Depending upon your answers to these questions,it may be advisable for you to consult with an attorney to see whether a viable cause of action exists, whether a suit may be timely brought and whether the recoverable damages justify the expense and effort of litigation. I would be willing to offer a free telephone consultation if you will call me at 314-727-2822. As you may know, all of the pertinent medical records will need to be obtained and reviewed by a medical expert for an expert opinion regarding professional negligence, and it may be necessary to file a lawsuit in order to accomplish even this preliminary step. In any event, I am sorry for your loss, and I would be glad to help if I am able to do so.
