Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Missouri

Cut Tendon

I cut my finger and went to the hospital. I saw something that didn't look right and asked the Dr what it was. He said nothing. It never healed and I finally had to go to another doctor and I had cut my tendon but by that time it had retracted back to my wrist and required a lot of surgery and therapy and now I may not regain use of it because it was not repaired that night. According to my Dr if the ER doctor would have sent me to a hand surgeon that night it would have been very easy to repair and it wouldn't have been any trouble at all. I wondered if I could sue this doctor for pain and suffering or at least for the doctor bills I am accumulating?
