Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri

My lease in a house I was renting from an individual with 3 other roommates was up in June. The other 3 are still there, and 1 new guy has moved in. They have not signed a new lease, and the new guy has not paid a security deposit. My landlord will not return my deposit and will not return my phone calls. What can I do to get my deposit back? Am I legally entitled to that deposit?

In Missouri, a landlord cannot wrongfully withhold a deposit. They must show you an itemized bill showing where your deposit went if it was applied to damages or unpaid rent. You did not say whether you have already moved out, and whether there were any unpaid damages or rent. Feel free to email me if you want to look into making a demand for the deposit.
