Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Missouri

My 13 year old sons dad died a little over a month ago. He had no will, and was living with a girlfriend. He had stated to many people, many different times, that when he died our son was to get his things. A lot of the things in the house he shared with his girlfriend were things that we acquired together over our ten years. As of this time, she has not given our son any of his dads things, and we dont know if she is giving them to her family or what she is doing with them. What are my options of getting parts of his dads estate for my son?

Your Son acting through a next friend (you) can open a probat eestate for his father. If you are accurate in what you describe, then your Son may have the right to all of his deceased father;s things. If you wait, your ex's girlfriend may take an dor spoil what belings to your Son. Go see aprobate attonrey in yrou area at your next opportunity.

Good luck
